If you like fish stories, stop by Grit & Grace Outdoors, 712 E. 7th.  Curtis Grace will "reel" you in with some good ones.  And while you are there, stock up on everything you need to make your own fishing memories.
Congratulations to Newkirk High School on the new sign at the entrance to the school. This was made possible by the Peel Foundation, Waldorf Riley Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing, and Powell Electric.
Newkirk Tag Agency was recognized as Business of the Month for March by the Newkirk Chamber of Commerce and Newkirk Main Street.  Doug Eisenhauer is the current tag agent and has been in the business for 17 years.  He has one fellow employee, Hayden Bergman, who has been with him for 3 years.  People come from all over the surrounding area because of shorter wait times and the friendliness of the agents.
Newkirk Chamber and Newkirk Main Street honored Security Abstract as the Business of the Month for April.  The business has been around since 1907.  Steve Boone is president, the third family generation to hold that honor.  Ruth Ann Oestmann is supervisor of the Newkirk office.  She has worked for the company for 47 years. There are three other employees in the office.
