Congratulations to Grit & Grace Outdoors for their Business of the Year Award for 2022! Pictured are Jason & Curtis Grace, owners and Debbie Leaming, Chamber president. Walter Shafer was selected as the Citizen of the Year for 2022 by the Newkirk Chamber of Commerce. He is shown here with Kelly, Hannah, and daughter, Kelle Cross, wife Jana, and daughter Kim and Jason Shanks. Congratulations! The opening event for the Kay County Amphitheater will be Saturday, April 30th and will include the Kay County Honor Choir with a nationally known conductor (who also has ties to Newkirk)! Additionally, talent is being booked for a "Second Saturday Series" that will run from June to October. The dates are 6/11, 7/9, 8/13, 9/10 Charlie Adams Day), and 10/8. Newkirk Chamber of Commerce and Newkirk Main Street will be supporting these events. We will be asking our members if they have an interest in any of these dates. Ideas could range from pop up shops, food-truck-type tents (ice cream, snow cones, smoothies, sandwiches, burgers, BBQ, etc.). Our members will have the first right of refusal and we would need to know by the end of March. The Newkirk Chamber is looking for a part-time secretary. The job requires 20 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible. Please inquire by calling 362-2155 or email us at [email protected].
